The Heart
Behind the Healing

Where love, loss, and healing walk hand in hand.

My journey into healing began with heartbreak — and a miracle.

Years ago, my beloved dog Pyzer took a terrible fall off a cliff. He survived, but his body was wrecked. After two weeks of not being able to walk, and after exhausting every veterinary option available, I felt helpless. His veterinarian was at a loss. I was desperate.

Then, someone I had just met offered to try something different — something I didn’t fully understand at the time. I watched in disbelief as this man gently waved his hands over Pyzer’s trembling body for twenty minutes. No touch, no tools, just presence and intention. When he finished, Pyzer slowly stood up… and walked. On his own. For the first time in two weeks.

It felt like witnessing magic. But something deeper inside me recognized it. I knew then and there I had to learn how to do what I had just seen — not only for Pyzer, but for others like him.

From Energy to Earth: A Path Between Worlds

In 2017, I became Reiki certified and began my journey into the subtle energy arts. But my scientifically-trained mind — shaped by years of botanical research — wanted more structure, more understanding, more knowledge. That’s when I found acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, and I realized I had found the perfect bridge between science and spirit. I enrolled in Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts, earning my Master’s in Oriental Medicine in 2022.

A Gentle Return to Energy Work

From North Carolina to Colorado to Washington, I’ve worked as a licensed acupuncturist, walking the path between ancient healing and modern practice. But Reiki kept finding me. Patients began asking, unprompted, if I knew anyone who practiced Reiki. It felt almost fated. And then came the call that would pull me back: a woman I had never met, asking if I could offer Reiki for her very ill dog. That was my sign to return — to reawaken my connection to energy work and continue the path that had begun with Pyzer.

I’ve always had a quiet gift with animals — a deep, intuitive understanding that transcends words. It’s been a source of great joy to work with them, to meet them where they are and offer a healing presence. Along the way, I also found my calling to help humans navigate life’s most tender transitions.

Holding Space at Life's Threshold

I began volunteering as an art instructor at a skilled nursing facility, where I was deeply moved by my students — their resilience, wisdom, and stories. It takes a special kind of heart to connect with those nearing the end of their journey and to hold space for their passage. I wanted to offer more than just creative connection — I wanted to offer true support. And so, my work as a death doula began, combining Reiki and acupuncture to help guide individuals through their final chapter with comfort, dignity, and grace.
